My Skins for the Sims

Welcome to my Sims 1 skins section! While I'm not a skinner at the top of the class, my stuff looks OK in the game. Most of my skins are basically recolours of Maxis ones, but chopped and changed and added to as I get the hang of my paint program. I also like to make skins for Rubenesque Sims, and there aren't that many sites out there offering these. If you are looking for loads of haute couture, hand drawn skins you are not in the right place. If you are after something in a different skin tone or body shape, then you are.

All Swimwear, Lingerie, Formals, Winter wear and High Fashions  are Hot Date/Vacation (On Holiday)/Superstar compatible. If you want to use them in a non-HD/SV game then the bitmaps will have to be re-named. Some of the meshes used are the old defaults so swimwear for a fit female sim will be UFFitlgt_wotsit.bmp (where wotsit is the name of the skin), formals will be FFFitlgt_wotsit.bmp and pyjamas will be pajamaflgt_wotsit.bmp (but remember this is only with skins based on the original formal, swimsuit and PJs). Personally I think it is a damn sight easier to use Sim Wardrobe (free) or Sim Enhancer (not free) to make your sets.

Poses!

I use a lot of poses by Desdemona of Amazon Sims. Since Amazon Sims closed, these can now be found at my yahoo group GothGerbil's Dump. Thanks to Desdemona for letting me host them.

Introducing the 'Ali' tone...

This skin tone is called the 'Ali' tone because my skin happens to be this colour! Pale, but not as pale as the Simsylvania/Nighttime Sims/Amazon Sims pale tone.

This is the first skin I made on a non-maxis mesh - which means it was done from scratch and is not just a re-colour. It's nothing special, but I'm pleased because it's the first one I've done and we've all got to start somewhere haven't we? I also made the head that goes with it, which I wouldn't have managed without the wonderful tutorial by Desdemona. It's supposed to sort of be me as I do have a dress very similar to this as well as having hair near enough exactly this length, this colour and this style. Wish I was this shape!!!
